Heritage Snap! Awards NOW OPEN!
The City of Launceston's Heritage Snap! photography awards for students were put on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year, but with restrictions easing and students returning to school, we have now re-launched the awards for 2020.
Entries are now open and will close on 31 August. Shortlisted entries will be displayed in a public exhibition in September.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote for their favourite entry and for t he first time we will offer a Peoples' Choice award with a $500 voucher for photographic equipment going to the overall winner.
Further details are provided on the attached flyer, but as a quick reference:
- a digital image
- text providing an explanation of the interest in the subject and why it should 'stay' or 'go'
If classes can't be taken on field trips, we hope that teachers might like to use the competition as the basis for activities that students can undertake on their own, or with parents or guardians, and also that if students are informed of the awards, that they may wish to participate independently, as is often the case.
It would also be greatly appreciated if you could assist us in spreading the word to anyone who may be interested (via your email and social media networks and any other means). The attached information flyer may be emailed or printed and posted in any location which may be seen by others.
As always, if you need any further information, please call me on 6323 3370 or email: heritageawards@launceston.tas.gov.au
