Welcome back to Term 3. We have several special celebrations happening in our community this term. These begin with Catholic Education Week next week. This week is an opportunity for Catholic schools in Queensland to celebrate and promote their distinctive mission and ethos. As well as activities teachers will do with their classes, we will all celebrate next Tuesday by joining with students and staff from St Clare's Tully, St Rita's South Johnstone, St Rita's Babinda, Good Counsel Primary School and Good Counsel College in Innisfail. You are welcome to join us for the Mass which begins at 10am.
Thursday 15th August is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary; a holy day of obligation. We will have a whole school Mass at 9am.
On Wednesday 21st August at 6pm, several of our students will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is always a special Mass presided by Bishop James. At Mass on the following Saturday night, 24th August at 6pm, these students will complete their initiation into the Catholic Church when they receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist, "the source and summit of the Christian life".
